Other Weight Loss Methods

Acai Weight Loss

This method is based on the Acai Berry and Dr Oz featured it on the Oprah show in 2008. I haven’t tried it but here’s one person’s experience with it. Click here.

Acupuncture for weight loss

I’ve often thought about using acupuncture for knee joint pain, but acupuncture for weight loss is an entirely new approach to me. Here’s a book that goes into great detail on the subject of acupuncture:

Fasting

Fasting is not only a way of losing weight, but it is also a way to purge impurities from your body. I personally believe that fasting one day a week (and only drinking water) will produce a much healthier lifestyle. In a typical ‘detox’ program, a person fasts for three days drinking water only.

Variations of the fasting method might be to eat only fruits and vegetables for a period of time. A handful of unsalted nuts or seeds could be eaten when you get especially hungry. In my younger years, I was on a water fast that lasted 20 days without any real problem. Once you get past the third day, you are no longer hungry.

I wouldn’t recommend a fast of more than 3 days in a weight loss program.

Hypnosis For Weight Loss

I ran across a really interesting concept. A self-hypnosis method where you listen to a CD to get yourself retrained.

Another one I haven’t tried, but the price is right at under  $50. Click here to go to their site.

Liquid Diets

Liquid diets, when followed for more than a few days, should only be undertaken with the approval of your doctor. Some of the diets involve drinking only juice, water or protein shakes. A Google Search will give you more information.
